Berkshire and Oxfordshire service
Retuning almost never fixes anything - the fault is usually physical
Berkshire sits between Hannington, Oxford, Crystal Palace and Guildford, with their coverage overlapping across a lot of the county. An aerial pointed at the wrong mast, or picking up two at once, causes intermittent break-up that no retune will cure.
Other common culprits: water in the downlead, corroded connectors, a failing masthead amplifier, an over-amplified feed overloading the tuner, mobile interference on nearby channels, and even LED lighting or a faulty appliance creating background noise.
We measure strength, quality and error rate at the aerial and at each outlet, so the fault gets identified properly rather than guessed at.
What's included
Done properly, first visit
No signal at all
Full chain tested from the aerial right through to the wall plate and tuner.
Pixelation and freezing
Signal quality and error rate measured directly, not just read off the bar on your TV.
Missing channels
Wrong transmitter, wrong aerial group or a weak multiplex identified and corrected.
Mobile mast interference
Filters fitted where a nearby 4G or 5G mast is affecting your reception.
Weather-related faults
Water ingress, loose clamps and marginal alignment found and put right.
Background interference
Traced back to lighting, appliances or a failing amplifier as the actual cause.

Get in touch
Give us your postcode and describe what's happening on screen. Often we can narrow down the likely cause before the van's even loaded.
- 02
On-site check
Your engineer reads the actual signal at roof height, rather than assuming it matches the house next door.
- 03
Clear price
You'll know the cost before anything is fitted, drilled or climbed.
- 04
Fit and prove it
Once the work's done, every point in the house is checked and the area left as we found it.
Questions
Straight answers
Anything not covered here, call 0118 968 0881 and speak to an engineer — not a scripted call handler.
Why does my picture only break up when it rains?
Usually water in the downlead or a corroded connector, occasionally a marginal alignment. Both are quick to put right.
I retuned and lost some channels - why?
Your TV may have locked onto a weaker transmitter by mistake. We realign and lock in the correct one.
Could a mobile phone mast really be the cause?
Yes - 4G and 5G signals near the old TV frequencies can interfere with nearby channels, and a filter usually clears it up.
Do I still pay if it turns out to be the TV itself?
We'll tell you honestly what we find, and you only pay the agreed fixed price for the work actually carried out.
