Reception faults
Satellite reception faults tracked down across Berkshire
No signal, breaking up, dropping out in the rain, or channels that vanish and reappear - we track it back to the actual cause rather than swapping parts at random.

Berkshire and Oxfordshire service
"No signal" only tells you something's wrong - not what
Between the satellite and your screen sits a dish, an LNB, a length of cable, connectors, maybe a splitter, and finally the box itself. A break anywhere along that chain shows the same message on screen, which is exactly why simply swapping the receiver rarely helps.
We take a reading at the dish and again at the TV point, checking strength and quality on the actual channels you're missing. That pinpoints the fault - a dish knocked slightly off true, a tired LNB, a perished cable, a corroded joint, or a splitter under too much load - far quicker than trial and error.
One thing we see a lot around Berkshire is tree growth: a dish set up perfectly in January can lose its view completely once next door's sycamore is back in full leaf by June. We check this on site and either clear the path where we're able, or move the dish to somewhere it stays clear.
What's included
Done properly, first visit
No-signal tracing
Readings taken right through the chain, from dish to receiver, to find where it's actually breaking down.
Rain-fade fixes
Alignment and connector issues that only show up in bad weather, put right for good.
Break-up and freezing
Weak or noisy signal traced back to whichever component is actually causing it.
Missing channels
Checked channel by channel to work out why part of your line-up has disappeared.
Tree and obstruction checks
Line-of-sight assessed, with relocation offered where growth or new building work is in the way.
Receiver health checks
Your box tested too, so you're only replacing equipment that's genuinely at fault.
How it works
From phone call to first channel
- 01
Get in touch
Give us your postcode and describe what's happening on screen. Often we can narrow down the likely cause before the van's even loaded.
- 02
On-site check
Your engineer reads the actual signal at roof height, rather than assuming it matches the house next door.
- 03
Clear price
You'll know the cost before anything is fitted, drilled or climbed.
- 04
Fit and prove it
Once the work's done, every point in the house is checked and the area left as we found it.

My Sky box says there's no satellite signal - what does that mean?
It usually means the dish has drifted, the LNB has failed, or water's got into the cable somewhere. We check each stage in turn and fix whichever one it is.
Why does the picture only break up when it's windy or wet?
That pattern points to a marginal alignment or a connector taking on moisture. It works in good weather because there's just enough signal to scrape by - we put the margin back.
Some channels work fine but others don't - is the dish broken?
Not necessarily. Channels sit on different frequencies, so losing part of your line-up usually means a slightly-off alignment or a weakening LNB rather than total failure.
A tree's grown up in front of the dish - what can be done?
We'll check the actual line of sight, then either reposition or raise the dish and re-set it to peak signal.
